The Die

In market segments such as label printing, the die is the basis of the job.

With this in mind, you can configure a custom template to prioritize the die as the starting point for the quote.

Against a custom template, on the admin screen, at a ‘section’ level, check ON the ‘Prioritize Die’ option:

With this on, the first section-based dropdown field will be ‘Die Cut’:

Any operation marked as ‘Show die library’:

Will display in the 'Die Cut' dropdown:

When a die operation is selected, the ‘Reference’ and ‘Group’ fields will show:

Once a die is selected, the modal will populate showing various details used on the die imposition components:

*NOTE: Next to each die option is a ‘X’. Click on this to quickly clear the selection.

NOTE: Make sure you have the die-based checkboxes ON along with ‘Show on Screens’:

 Once you have the required die selected, click the ‘Confirm Selection’ button to lock in the die:

This presets and overrides set on the die such as:

Job Size

This will populate auto populate with the set size:

 

Production Overrides

Any production-based overrides will be locked under the ‘Advanced Production Options’ spanner and flagged as ‘Set from selected die’:

 

Production

At the production stage, in the job details screen, click on the die operation:

The popup will display all the die details seen at quote stage:

 

The digital job bag will also display the same information:

 

DIE SEARCH

A quote can be started from a die search using the ‘Die Product’ custom quote option:

This lets you select a die-based operation and search first by basic details such as the job size.
NOTE: If you are using ‘Height’ in your system and addition to Width and Depth the height option will also be searchable:

 

Enter a size and search to view all dies that match:

 

From here click the ‘Select’ button against the die to start the quote generation:

 

Select a bespoke template and a customer:

 

This will start the quote with the die selected:

You can do advanced die searching by selecting the ‘Show More’ option:

 

 

SETTINGS:

 Die Reference Format
This setting is used to set the display of the ‘Die’ column on the All Jobs, Pre and Production boards as well as the Imposition Board.

Using the placeholder of {ImpoDesc1} will reference the die operations ‘Imposition Requirements’ ‘Description 1’ filed:

 

To populate the column on the board:

Require Confirm Die Button to populate Custom Quote Fields

This setting displays the confirm option that then locks in any production and size overrides set against the die.
Recommended that this is always set to ‘Yes’:

Always Expand Prioritize Die Information Block
Sets if the ‘Die Block’ and ‘Production Method’ sections are expanded or closed by default:
