Xero Export Failed - Duplicated Contact number
Error generated while exporting invoices to Xero.
"Another contact has this contact number.
Please enter a different contact number".
In order to export information from printIQ to Xero the contact information needs to be the same in both programs.
The following will help troubleshoot issues exporting from printIQ to Xero.
What has probably happened:
Someone has merged the contact that printIQ created into their existing contact. This will have archived the printIQ contact, so data for that contact can't be exported anymore.
How to fix it:
Find the 2 contacts, one which will have the name of the printIQ customer, one which will have the code
You can find this by checking the history of the two, you may need to check archived contacts
If either contact has a ‘Contact Code’ field on the contact this is the one printIQ uses. Keep this one active (merge into this contact).
If you see a 'Contact Code' field, you shouldn’t be using ‘Merge into another contact’ on this contact.
If you have merged one of these, you need to:
1. Find the contact with the code under ‘Archived’
2. Restore the contact from archived
3. Go into the other contact (the one WITHOUT a contact code), and merge this with the newly-restored contact
Details of contacts also get pushed from printIQ, so keep the printIQ details updated if you change them in Xero
