(IQ Super User)
Shop Floor Users - General
Along with Customer, Supplier and Staff type users, the fourth user type is Shop Floor:
This is a user definition type with built in restrictions.
There is a backend setting that controls the maximum number of enabled Shop Floor users that can be configured in printIQ:
Above settings can only be accessed by printIQ support staff.
Within Shop Floor users, there are two kinds – one with the Dispatch User role and one without.
Shop floor users with the Dispatch User role will have access to the dispatch board and dispatch details as well as restricted access to the inventory and outsource purchase orders for the purpose of receipting in.
All Shop Floor users should be created with the Factory Staff role assigned.
It is recommended that, if they do not already exist, user positions are created for these two shop floor user types - ~/Users/ManagePositions.aspx

Adding other roles to this user type will not extend the users access in the application.
All Shop Floor users are granted access to several key functionalities, including:
- Job Details
- All Jobs Board
- Proof Details
- Sales Orders
- IQ Store Board
- Pre-Production Board
- Production Board and
- Capacity Planning
For Shop Floor users designated with the Dispatch User role, additional access is provided to:
- Inventory Purchase Orders
- Outsource Purchase Orders
- Dispatch Board
Capabilities of Shop Floor Users
All Shop Floor Users (SF Users) possess the following abilities:
- Viewing Job Details: SF Users can access and review job specifics, including artwork, job bags, and user assignments.
- Access the Proof Details screen: SF Users have the ability to view and download approved proofs.
- Note Addition and Label Production: They can append notes and generate dispatch labels for both Production Jobs and Sales Orders.
- Picking Lists and Packing Slips: SF Users have the authority to produce picking lists and packing slips for Sales Orders.
- Operational Control: They can initiate, pause, and conclude operations from within both Job Details and Job Bags, thereby advancing job statuses accordingly.
Additionally, SF Users enjoy read-only access to the All Jobs, IQ Store, Pre-Production, and Production Boards, along with read-only access to the Capacity Planning Board.
Shop Floor Users with Dispatch User Role
In addition to the aforementioned accesses above, SF Users holding the Dispatch User role are granted further access to:
- Inventory and Outsource Purchase Order boards for the purposes of viewing the POs and receipting in stocks and materials (inventory Purchase Orders) and / or outsourced jobs from the Outsource Purchase Orders
- Dispatch and Inventory Transfer Boards.
Restrict Shop Floor Users to Their Assigned Factory Location
Overview
The Production_RestrictShopFloorUserFactoryLocations setting controls factory location visibility for Shop Floor user types.
This setting is designed for environments where a site operates with more than one Factory Location and helps ensure Shop Floor users only access jobs relevant to their assigned factory.
Applicability
This setting applies only when:
The user type is ShopFloor
The site has multiple Factory Locations
A Factory Location is assigned in the user's profile
The setting Production_RestrictShopFloorUserFactoryLocations is enabled
Behavior When Enabled
If the setting is enabled and the Shop Floor user has a Factory Location assigned:
The user can only see jobs being produced at their assigned factory
The user cannot change or access the Factory Location selector field
When enabled, Shop Floor users will not be able to access or modify the Factory Location selector field on the following boards:
All Jobs Board
Dispatch Board
Inventory Transfer Board
Pre Production Board
Production Board
Sales Order Board
Expected Outcome
Enabling this setting ensures:
- Shop Floor users are restricted to their assigned factory
- Cross-factory job visibility is prevented
- Factory-specific operational control is maintained
Notes
If a Shop Floor user does not have a Factory Location assigned, this restriction will not function as intended.
This setting does not impact non-Shop Floor user types.
Restrict User Access to Factory Locations
There is a setting that can be enabled to apply the same Factory Locations restriction on the production boards to staff users - Production_FactoryLocationAccessRoles
This setting applies to both Staff and Shop Floor user types.
Again, this setting requires more than 1 Factory Location being configured. If the user has a Role included in the selection of roles on this setting, they will be able to see only jobs being produced at their factory.
If you require assistance configuring this setting, please contact your system administrator.
