Setting up ‘Factory Locations’
For companies with multiple production locations, using ‘Factory Locations’ you can configure the factory’s time zone, operation hours and what machines are located at each factory.
In the below example we have ‘Shared Equipment’ (presses and machines that are shared between the two locations), a NZ (New Zealand) factory and a QLD (Queensland, Australia) location:
In the top header, is a ‘Instance Hours’ button:
This is a master setting that can be used if you have multiple factories all with the same operation hours in the same time zone.
Here you can configure the days and hours of operation. Using the master option will use the time zone set against your instance of printIQ:
You can also use ‘Override Hours’ to include public holidays or override the open times for a specific day:
All days and hours set are used by printIQ when apply turnaround times against jobs for calculation of due dates.
A ‘Cutoff’ time can also be configured so any quotes approved after the defined cutoff will be calculated based of a ‘next day’ acceptance:
If your factories are in different time zones or have different operation hours, you will need to set these at an individual location level. Against the location click the ‘Edit’ button:
Here you have the same operation hours and override hours option, but they will only be applied to this selected location:
Use the ‘Inherit operating hours’ checkbox to use the master hours setting if they match
Other important setting to note are the options of setting the default ‘Billing Site’, ‘Address’ and ‘Time Zone’.
Here we have the NZ factory set to the ‘Auckland, Wellington’ time zone:
As the master printIQ time setting is for Australia, we have the QLD site configured to ‘Inherit operation hours’:
The time zone is also used on the Capacity Planner screen when view and planning by the factory location:
QLD (Brisbane)
NZ (Auckland)
The time zone difference between your user setting and the viewed location can be seen inside the ‘hover’ details of the time zone displayed:
Machines can be allocated to a factory by either a ‘Drag & Drop’ on this screen:
Or by setting the ‘Location’ filed on a machine or press:
