FAQ's QUOTING - Price Rounding via Product Categories

Rounding in printQ can be set in two places – Price Lists and Product Categories.

Pricelist rounding is more widespread as a pricelist will usually link to many products.

Setting the rounding rules on the Product Tree allows finer control over which products it can be applied to for a more granular approach.

To evoke any rounding calculations there are 3 settings on each Product Category to control its function.

  1. Rounding Target
  1. Rounding Mode
  1. Rounding Position

To get Rounding to happen at all, you need to set the Rounding Target and the Rounding Precision in the product category…

None – No rounding calculations are performed.

Total Sales Price – Rounds the final total, including freight and tax

Retail Price – Rounds the products’ pre-tax price

Retail Unit Price – Rounds the unit price of the product

The Rounding Precision is the number you wish to round to.

(note: the description above is incorrect and will be updated in an upcoming release)

‘0.50’ will round to 50 cents.

‘1’ will round to the whole dollar

‘10’ will round to a multiple of 10 and so on.

The figures below depict the pricing for the same product with different rounding options.

The product price and the total sales price are shown…

Total Sales Price

Retail Price

For None, there is no attempt at rounding at all. For Total Sales Price the rounding is performed on the final total and
for Retail Price the rounding is done on the Products pre-tax price.

When Retail Unit Price is selected, the rounding applies to EACH unit on the quote.

For the same Business Card product used above, when I set it to Retail Unit Pricing, Round to Nearest 0.5…
