When stock reservations are enabled, the system will reserve the required stock for an order once the quote is accepted. This means that the reserved stock will no longer be available for other orders or jobs, and the quantity available in the system will be adjusted accordingly.
As a result, the QoH (quantity on hand) calculation will reflect the new availability of the stock after the reservation has been made. This is important for accurate inventory management and to ensure that the required stock is available for the job or order when it is needed.
With the setting "Only Reserve Stock Once Job is in Production" enabled, the system will defer the reservation of the required stock until after all ‘Pre-Production’ operations have been completed. This means that the stock will not be reserved until the job is confirmed to be moving forward into production.

By deferring the stock reservation until after Pre-Production, the amount of stock that is held 'in reserve' is reduced, which can help to optimize inventory levels and minimize the amount of working capital tied up in inventory. Additionally, the length of time that the stock is retained in a reserved status is reduced, which can help to improve inventory turnover and reduce the risk of obsolescence or expiration of the reserved stock.
However, it is important to be aware that this setting may not be suitable for all types of jobs or industries. Some jobs may require the stock to be reserved at an earlier stage to ensure that it is available when needed, particularly for time-sensitive or high-priority orders. It's important to consider the specific needs of your business and your customers when deciding whether to enable or disable this setting.
On the
