Operations - Exclude from 'Target' markup options

Exclude Section, Side and Job Operations from ‘Target Per’ Pricing Calculations

There is an option on operations where you can now include or exclude the operations’ price from ‘Target Per’ markup calculations. This means that you can have specific operations excluded from the Target Per calculations. An example of this might be Packing.

Operations marked as ‘Exclude from Target Per’ are not included in the Target Per markup (or markdown) but are added to the total calculated from the Target Per figures.

In the pricing details on products there is the option to set your Cost or Sell price to a specific price per set quantity.
The quantity (defaults to ‘per 1000’) can be edited to any quantity and a target price for that quantity entered.

There are times when there are operations that you do not wish to be included in the Target Per calculations, which can either mark up (if the price increases) or mark down (if the price decreases)
Operations marked as ‘Exclude from Target Per’ are not included in the Target Per markup (or markdown) but are added to the total price calculated from the Target Per figures.

We have a quote for 50,000 items.
The Pack By Weight operation is currently not excluded from the Target Per value.Edit the Set Target Per to $24 / 1000

Edit the Set Target Per to $24 / 1000

After applying it to the tax exclusive price, the totals are re-calculated to reflect this price per 1000…

50 (thousand) * $24 = $1200

To see the Target Per exclusion, I now set the pack operation to Exclude from target per…

And then re-calculate the quote to reset the price per and pick up the new setting on the operation.
The quote total is back at $1314.13…

Setting the Target Per to $24 / 1000 and applying to Tax Excluded price again is now being applied to the total less the Pack Operation price.
The Pack Operation price of $99.07 is then added to the Target Per total…
50 * $24 + $99.07 = $1299.07.

Wise Words

On Parent operations, these settings have no bearing on calculated prices. Whether the markups are applied is based on the settings within each individual Child operation.

Editing the operation pricing after setting the Target Per will reset the Target Per pricing entered and revert back to the quote price. Ensure any edits to excluded operation pricing or factors are done before applying a Target Per price.
