UPS Oauth setup

UPS Integration using Oauth

UPS uses Oauth for authentication and IQ is designed to work together to pull pricing from UPS into IQ.

UPS Oauth Screen

For UPS credentials, please use the link below to login to your UPS account (or create one if you don’t already have one).

From here it should take you through the Oauth for freight credentials.

CLICK the "add product" and add the Oauth product to your instance.

Follow the instructions and you will be set up for the Oauth connection.

You will receive the following;
1) A Client ID
2) A Client Secret
3) Your Account number (which you should already have)

Once you have these - navigate to the IQ screen.

IQ Freight Integration Screen

Now got to the freight integration screen inside IQ:

Select UPS from the list:

Enter the credentials from your UPS screen into this IQ screen:

Getting UPS to return a Price

Before UPS will return a price you will need to add some more products:

Pricing with UPS:

To get UPS to price - you need to click on the product button -and choose RATING from the list:

It will populate in the list of "Products in use" and give you an "approved status".

RATING is required for PRICING to be returned to IQ.

Shipping with UPS via IQ.

It is advised to add these additional services at "go-live" so you don't end ordering "shipping" for test jobs.

Add additional services after Go-Live

a.    Click Shipping to have IQ be able to ship UPS (in the job screen)

b.    Add Tracking if you want to report the tracking information to your customer through IQ

c.     Add Address Validation if you want to validate addresses through IQ

Shipping is required to order UPS through IQ, the other two choices are "optional"

Note:   there may be costs for additional services based on your contract. RATING does not cost.

Linking UPS to your Quotes.

Create a delivery method.

To setup a "UPS" button for freight, navigate to the Freight ADMIN Screen:

Navigate to the delivery methods tab, and create a method called UPS:

The order you pick will determine which is first on your quote screen.
Now navigate to the delivery types menu

Scroll down the list to find your UPS shipping methods you want to make available (Typically they will have a 1 after them - which you can remove):

Link them to the Delivery Method UPS, and enter a Markup % and a minimum charge if you desire.

Testing your UPS pricing

These will now show up as an option in your quoting and should return a price.

If UPS is not available, there are a couple of things to check:
1. Double check the weight, and the number of cartons. You might need to split the job across multiple cartons to have it fit the weight numbers.
2. Check the Pricing is actually happening, and isn't producing errors.

Checking UPS errors

To check a UPS error, go back to the Integration screen in IQ:

Choose the UPS integration

Scroll down to the history at the bottom

Here you will get a series of reports that will show you any errors you may have received. You can review them here - and troubleshoot:

You can also click the download button to see the detail which will usually tell you why it errored if it did.
