Production Operations define the individual tasks performed in the factory during production. To manage these operations effectively, CSV exports and imports can be utilized.
Mass updating of Production Operations can be a time-consuming task, especially during the initial setup phase of a site. This is mainly due to the number of operations defined on the system.
For example, adding GL Accounts to previously created operations can be a time sink, particularly as this is often done at a later phase of the build process.
On the Operations screen, you will find three buttons located on the toolbar at the top. These buttons enable you to either export or import a CSV file containing the displayed operations’ details as well as a Help modal that describes each field in the CSV:
When exporting operations, only the operations presented on the board are exported.
Use the filters below the export toolbar to filter the list:
Operations are exported in an upload-ready CSV format.
It is important to note that there is no pre-defined 'Template CSV' for uploading Operations. It is recommended that at least one operation is configured as required and tested before exporting it.
Then make necessary edits in the exported CSV file, to duplicate or update the operation before re-uploading into printIQ to effect those changes.
The operation export function exports all aspects of the operations except for the component records. This includes sub operation details and parameters if they exist.
Component records must be re-created either manually, or by exporting from the original operation, updating them and re-uploading them to the new operation.
This differs from the manual ‘Copy Operation’ functionality in printIQ where you are prompted to copy the component records to the new operation.
