Timing on a Job with Split over Multiple Presses

Larger printers usually have identical presses, and when bigger run jobs come in they can split the job and run it on identical presses at the same time.

Splitting Up Versions (Kinds) in Capacity Planning

This sample job was quoted as multiple runs on the same press in the quote:

When pulling the job into capacity planner it is seen as one "large job"

This may have the undesired result of having one large "run" for all 10 versions either on the Job Details and on the Job Bag - not allowing the sections to be dealt with separately, being logged onto by different employees, or moved over to different presses (ie. a duplicate press capable of running the same job to speed up production).

By clicking on the hamburger on the job in capacity planning it will pop open a menu where you can choose to SPLIT the job up:

This will then give you a dialogue box where you can choose to split up the job by the different quantities:

You can choose to split by Quantity, # of Splits or Split minutes (it will calculate the others you do not choose).

This will allow you to capacity plan the job by section:

You can then us the shift key to grab multiple sections:

Then you can drag them to a similar press so that you can run them simultaneously speeding up your time to turn the job:

Instead of using the PLAY button on the Capacity Planner window, the press operators can click on the hamburger and go to the job bag:

From here they can scroll down to the press section where they can time independently on the different sections:
