Tilia Phoenix Integration - Gang Module pt.2

Part 1 Back here

'Roll Stock' Based Printing

Roll based stock can also be used with ganging. In this flow,
Phoenix generates the required imposition into ‘sheets’ (Run Length) with the number of sheets required to fulfil the ordered quantities.
For example, the layout generated in Phoenix displays as a ‘sheet’:

In the workings, the ‘length’ of the single ‘sheet’ is shown along with the ‘Run Length’ (or number of sheets required):

When the gang is imported back into printIQ, the stock usage is converted into a total length of stock required:

97.42" x8 = 779.36"

printIQ and Phoenix integration points

The following areas are where the links between printIQ and Phoenix are made:

Things - these are presses, guillotines and diecutters.

The setup in Phoenix needs to match as close as possible to the configuration in printIQ for the calculations to be as accurate as they can.
There will be differences as printIQ has a lot of component pricing options that will not be in Phoenix.
It will just be finding the best middle ground:

Tilia will work with the customer on the Phoenix configuration
NOTE: IMPOSITION DEVICE ID
In printIQ, a press, machine, and guillotine have a field called ‘IMPOSITION DEVICE ID’:

Press :

Guillotine

Machine

The text used in this field must match the ‘Name’ field in the Phoenix ‘Things’ (no special characters can be used):

Stocks  – all stocks to be used for imposing must be replicated in Phoenix matching the size and pricing from printIQ.

The master printIQ stock code:

Must match the ‘Name’ used in Phoenix:

The stock sizes in printIQ must also be replicated in Phoenix:
printIQ:

Phoenix:

Plates – For costing calculations, recreate the plates and costings from printIQ into Phoenix:

*Tilia will work with the customer on the Phoenix configuration.

Import Settings for batch CSV

This is accessed under ‘Import Products’:

The batch csv file exported from printIQ contains various integration specific columns:

Depending on your integration requirements, some of the fields will require mappings to be configured and saved as part of your custom import: Outlined is the types for each of these fields below.

QQADSKey - integer
PIKKey - integer
PKKey - Integer
SectionPages - Integer
Signature - Text

Export Settings for .json file

The .json file is imported into printIQ to create the gang runs. This is exported from ‘Export Report – JSON’:

*Set the destination folder to export to
*Set the option to ‘Use Project Filename’

Export Settings for imposed pdf files

For the exported pdf file names to match the above documentation, the following naming structure needs to be configured:
Export for Printing - Imposed PDF:

* Use Custom Filename
<project.name>_<layout.name>_
