STOCK - Adding a new stock size from within a quote

A new stock size can be added to a stock record directly from a quote.
This is handy when you are quoting a job and require a stock size that does not exist against the selected stock.

When quoting, we have the 5 set sizes available as well as any ‘Pre-Trim’ size options:

We want to quote this job on a 660x920 sheet size, but this is not configured.
Against the stock, click the ‘Spanner’ icon to open the ‘Stock Information’ modal:

From the stock list, select a size option close in size to the one you want to create.
For a 660x920 size we will select the 650x910 option:

Next click on the green ‘paper’ icon:

This opens a modal that is a ‘copy’ of the selected stock.
The copy is there to make entering the new details quicker, so you are not starting from scratch.
The modal is pre-filled with the existing details that you then update:

Stock Size Code & Sheet Width & Depth:

Enter a unique ‘Stock Size Code’.
This can be an internal reference code, or you can use the same code the supplier uses to reference the stock item:

Link the supplier and enter the suppliers item code for the stock.
Use the checkbox to specify if the stock is long grain or not:

Pricing – The pricing setup from the copied stock is pulled through.
Alter this as required. This will most commonly be altering the unit price:

NOTE: Stock configured to use ‘Inventory Based’ pricing

Has a cut down ‘Pricing’ section in the copy modal as ‘Charge’ options are not used on inventory stock:

By default, the checkbox to ‘Only quote when selected’ is checked ON.
You can turn this off if required so the new size will be included in all quote calculation going forward.
With this option ON, you must select the size specifically in the size options for it to be included in any quote calculations.
This is commonly used for specialty stock sizes:

‘Save & Close’ to complete.
The new size will now display in the ‘Size’ field:

Update your quote and it will be priced using the selected stock size:

Back in the stock record, the new size is added for future use and can be edited at any time:

Pre Trim Stock

A ‘pre trim’ stock size cannot be copied:

You can copy the parent size and link to the ‘pre tim’ size as an ‘Adhoc’ size.
Select the parent size linked to the pre trim:

This display additional fields as well as the option to ‘copy’ the parent size:

Enter the new parent size to create the stock:
No stock cutting rules are copied over.
If you need to use the cutting rule for future work you must create the rule as per the standard process

The new size displays in the parent list as an ‘Adhoc’:

Enter the adhoc stock cutting rules:

When updating the quote, the new size is used as the parent:
