When a job is produced there are a number of issues that can arise necessitating the requirement to re-do some, or all, operations on the job for some or all of the quantity.
Rework jobs have the same job number as the original job with ‘-Rx’ appended to it (where x is an incrementing number beginning from 1)
printIQ now has the functionality to manage the re-working of jobs. Rework jobs can be created for jobs in any status.
You cannot re-work cancelled or completed jobs if you have any back end setting to enable job locking on 'Completed/Cancelled Jobs'.
You cannot re-work a re-work job (but you CAN create more than one rework job on an original job).
Rework jobs cannot be invoiced.
Depending on access roles, you may see a ‘Rework Job’ icon on the grey tool bar in the Job Detail
If re-working the whole job you can click ‘Select All’ at the top to copy all operations across to the re-work job.
On each section you can also select all operations for that section…
The job title is appended with a ‘– RW’ on the rework job.
The description is editable for the re-work job in the modal.
Once you have selected the operations to be re-worked, you have the option of changing the quantity to be re-worked.
And click Re-Price to re-calculate the current costs for the rework.
printIQ calculates the costs of the selected operations…
At the bottom of the screen there is an option to turn on the Cost Plus pricing by operation….
This presents the cost plus price in grey below the cost price…
And finally a Rework Reason MUST be entered (for reporting purposes)
When done, click save.
The rework job opens on your screen, containing only the selected operations…
The parent job also has link(s) to the re-work job(s)
Dispatch details are NOT copied to the re-work job.
Where possible, users should be dispatching from the original job, however the Delivery Details ARE added to the rework job as a Delivery Note, so the deliveries can be set up again if the job was already dispatched.
Rework jobs cannot be edited or copied…
To access rework functionality you always need to open the original job…
Once all the operations on the rework job have been done, the job can be set to Completed as there is no further action to take with it.
There is a standard supplied Rework Jobs report.
The report returns original quantity and cost as well as the rework quantity and costs.
The Total Costs is the sum of the original estimated job costs plus the rework costs.
The Difference compares the total production costs to the quoted price.
