Reference – Lists Type options
A reference can be setup using a type of ‘List’.
This method provides some additional options from other reference types.
List adds a section to the right where you can build a list of answers that can be selected when the reference is used:
As per the example above, this is a ‘Customer’ based reference so inside a customer record, under the ‘References’ section, you have the list to select from:
To add a new value to the list, just type in the text and click the ‘Add’ button.
The display order of the list can be changed by clicking on the arrow icon and drag/drop the value into the required slot:
You can have a max of 100 values display in the modal. Once you exceed this threshold, the screen will change and enforce that the values now be managed via a csv export/import:
The csv is a basic 4 column format. You can add/remove values in the csv and reimport. The display order on screen will match that of the csv so you can also alter the display using the csv:
Under the main screen is an option for ‘List Values’:
You can do a full export of all list based references contained under the selected reference option and also do an import. This can be used for bulk updating.
You can export a blank csv template and also have access to a ‘help’ screen:
List values can be limited to a specific customer or customer group via the csv:
Any value linked to a customer or customer group will be flagged with an icon on the screen (provided there are less than 100 options used):
