If required, you can assign a ‘Priority’ order to your presses so when doing a custom quote, IQ will select the press based on the priority order defined.
When you are in the custom quote screen and you price your quotes printIQ will always default to price using the cheapest production option.
If you want to you can override this and choose to use press priority, this way you can specify which presses you wish to prioritise when quoting.
In configure factory under equipment click on priority. From this screen you are able to manage your press priority.
This has now put the HP Indigo B2 press as your number one priority.
Anytime you create a quote and it is able to be produced on this press it will choose this press first.
Even if it is not the cheapest option it will choose the press that has priority 1.
You are able to set a number of presses under specific priority number. What I have done in the screen snap below is set a Digital Press at priority 1 and an Offset Press at priority one. I then have done the same but set for priority 2. What this will do is choose the cheapest option but as both a Digital and Offset press have been specified at priority 1, depending on the quantity of the job it choose the cheapest option between the 2 priority 1 presses.
Because of the priority 1 for the HP Indigo B2 Digital Press and is the cheapest option for the quantity of 1000 on this quote this option gets chosen. With the KL540 Sheetwork Offset press the second option because of its priority 1.
But for the quantity of 5000 the KL540 gets chosen because it is cheaper to produce on this press rather than the HP Indigo B2. But the HP Indigo B2 is the second choice because of it priority 1.
You are able to add as many press priorities as you wish. You can delete or edit the order anytime.
