Press and Operation components - Weight options

Job, Section (and Side) operations can be used to apply weight to quote products.

Each operation type can add a weight per unit and / or an overall weight per product.

The Weight values are set in the operations’ Specification Options under Pricing:

The units entered are either grams (Metric) or oz (Imperial). These fields will accept decimal values for precise control:

Weight Total applied the set weight once to the product. Weight Per Unit applies that weight per quoted unit.

Utilising the References and Groups, a list of values can be configured to be selected from at quote time to add a specific weight to the quote product:

The 'Add Grams Per Unit' operation has 1000 component records, allowing a weight of up to 1 kg (1000 grams) to be added per unit quantity:

The 'Add Part Grams to Unit' operation has just 9 component records that are configured to add from 0.1 to 0.9 grams per unit:

Utilising these two operations on a quote product allows additional weight to be added per unit from 0.1gms to 1000.9 in 0.01gram increments.

For example, these operations below will add 10.6grams per unit for freight calculations:

When viewed on the checkout screen (with no other material weight used in this example) the weight total for the 1000 quantity is 10.6kg:

This calculated weight is then used in any freight calculations involving this product.
