Notes within printIQ greatly enhance the communications between departments and convey specific requirements and specifications for the entries they are attached to.

Pre-defined Note Templates can be configured for the different note types in printIQ.

They are accessible under the General group on the Configure Factory screen…

The pre-defined note templates list is shown…

Click the ‘+’ in the upper right to add a new template or click the edit icon to the right of the existing entries to edit.

When creating a new template, you give it a title, enter the body of the Note into the Template field, and select what type of note this template is…

If the type selected has only one template defined, it will pre-populate the Template Selector field.

If there are more than one template defined for the selected note type, the user will need to make their selection manually.

And click ‘Fill’ to add the template contents to the new note…

The user can then add their own comments to the note if required.

You cannot ‘append’ template contents to existing notes.

If there is content in the note and you select a template and click ‘Fill’, you are prompted about the note being overwritten with the contents of the newly selected template…

In order to ‘add’ a template to a note, first copy the contents of the note, update the contents with the selected template and then paste the original note back in.
