Multi Site Setup

You must have a master ‘FACTORY” and create the ‘sites’ required as additional sites.

Upload all customers to these additional ‘sites’. MASTER is for pricing access only:

USER SETUP EXAMPLES

ESTIMATOR –

Has access to ‘Custom Quoting’ and can see customer records for all sites:
Link the ‘Customer’ to the required ‘Site’ and the ‘Factory Location’ to the required location.

****Must also be linked to the master ‘FACTORY’:

ACCOUNT MANAGER –

Has access to ‘Simplified’ quoting only. Can only access customer records for the ‘Site’ they are attached to:

Link the ‘Customer’ to the required ‘Site’ and the ‘Factory Location’ to the required location.

***Once access is given for custom quoting, this opens the user’s access to see all customer records for all sites***

PRODUCTION

Create the required ‘Factory Locations’ and place the equipment against the correct location:

If a single operation can be done in multiple ‘locations’, you need to add a pricing component to each operation and link it to the locations ‘machine’.

This way IQ knows what site to default it to for production purposes:

For example we have a 'Hervey Bay' location and a 'Bundaberg' location', you would create the machines for each location:

We have operations that can be done at both locations marked as such:

Every operation will require a minimum of 2 pricing component lines, one linked to a machine at each site:

From the production boards, you can select what location you want to view:

INVENTORY

In this setup, we have only a single overall inventory but you can add locations for both sites.
**When quoting you will only see the combined total of all stock held**

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  1.  Correct setup for a printIQ instance with multiple sites is to have the Factory site separated from the sales sites.
  2.  This means you’ll have a 'FACTORY' and then 'Site1' and 'Site2' so three sites rather than two.
  3.  You can setup users that have access to customers belonging to one site and not another.
  4.  This is about linking the user to the specific site and ensuring that the user is not an admin / factory admin type of user.  This will work for Simplified quotes.
  5.  Currently, to access Custom quotes, the user must have access to the Factory and by definition, this then gives them access to both Sites and the related customers.

Where there are more specific requirements about wanting to lock access down, it generally points more towards two separate entities and a separate version of printIQ for each.  This is on the basis that the required behaviour tends to indicate separate businesses and not just a single business that manufactures over 2 sites.
