‘Machines’ are where you create equipment (other than ‘Presses’) that are used throughout your business.
These ‘machines’ are used to link to operations and for production.
Machines are found under Admin > Configure the Factory > Equipment > Machines:
From the main screen you can see a list of all created machines:
To ‘Edit’ and existing machine click on its name:
A dropdown will show with the machine ‘Details’:
There is also a tab for configuring the machine for the ‘Capacity Planning’ module:
From the main menu you can select to ‘Copy Machine’ under the ‘Eyeglass’ option:
A new machine can be created from scratch by clicking the ‘+’ button:
Fill in the ‘Details’ tab with the machine information:
Name: This is the name that will display throughout printIQ for the specific machine.
If you have multiple of the same machine you would name them as ‘Folder 1, Folder 2 for example:
Description: A basic description of what the machine does. This is for your reference only and display on the main ‘list’ screen.
Type: Used to categorise machines only on the ‘Machines’ board (does not drive any internal logic).
Location: Used when you have multiple ‘Factory Locations’.
Department: Select the ‘Department’ to link the machine for Capacity Planning and ‘User’ account access.
Imposition Device ID: Device ID for Switch integration.
Market Segment: For reporting purposes.
Order: Order the machine will display in for Capacity Planning
Active: Active/Inactive flag.
Fill in the ‘Capacity Planning’ tab with the machine work hours. Use the sliders to set the operation days and hours:
Is Schedulable: Mark the machine as being available for Capacity Planning
Planning Group: Used to ‘group’ machines so that operation can be dragged/dropped from one machine to another on the Capacity Planner.
These groups can be configured in the ‘Planning Admin’ screen:
Machines/Guillotines/Presses: Used to group machines for selection from the ‘Operations’ board
Capacity Plan As: Used to link versions of the same machine to one consolidated machine for capacity planning.
Inherit Production Path from: Used to link ‘like’ machines for ‘Allocation’ from production boards.
