New Integration Partner

The printIQ Gang Module allows an operator to filter jobs by a combination of status, stock and finishing options.
The filtered jobs can be exported as a batch to import into Tilia Phoenix imposition software.
Here the user can create multiple gang layouts for import back into printIQ.
The gang jobs will contain all the individual jobs and list them as ‘child’ jobs of the ganged ‘parent’ job.
The ‘Parent’ job will be viewable on the printIQ ‘All Jobs’ and ‘Production’ boards and be available for,
time logging to be printed, cut and laminated as a parent before splitting into the original child jobs
for individual finishing (not related to the gang).

Production Updates

printIQ has now added the option to customise what you see on the All Jobs, Pre-Production, and Production boards.
Using a simple checkbox system, users can configure board tabs to their personal requirements.

When a paper stock is defined with a large number of stock sizes, when quoting, each of the sizes are calculated against to produce the most cost-effective production path.
As all the stock sizes are being priced along with all the presses and press options available, in some cases the time taken to calculate these production paths can be excessive.
When only a small number of these sizes are used for general quotes while the others are used more for specialty work,
to reduce the load on the quote engine, we can now set specific sizes of specific stocks to ‘Only price when selected’, greatly reducing the quote generation time.

Presses can be defined in printIQ with ‘Options’. This is effectively a copy of the base press configuration with a slight change in the presses’ specifications.
Examples of this may be a variation on a press definition with no grips or separate cylinder details.
When pricing a quote, unless a press is specifically selected, all the options are included in the ‘Get Price’ calculation.
This is fine when there are only one or two press options defined, however some workflows require numerous press options to be created, such as
flexographic presses with a large number of cylinder options.
We have added an checkbox to the press options to 'Only price when selected'.
This will exclude that option from calculating as part of a general quote calculation.
To quote on this press option it must be manually selected from the quotes 'Advanced Production Options'.

Freight Updates

3rd party shipping allows printIQ to use ‘Customers Supplied Credentials’ for shipping rates and services.
Essentially the shipping is being booked on and invoiced directly to the customer from the freight provider.

When pricing freight, printIQ uses the dimensions and weight of the job to calculate the default carton and qty per carton based on internal rules.
To ensure the correct carton is used for the products that have been created using ‘Single Product Creation’ (as these can be ordered by customers who have no access to override cartons),
a specific carton and qty per carton can be set on the ‘Single Product’ definition either manually on screen or via a CSV upload.

We have added a caching layer to freight integration pricing calls.
The selected delivery & quanitity will send out one API (database) call and this price will be valid based on the site setting (days) configured in printIQ.

Quoting Updates

Dynamic Catalogue - Reordering Workflow
A dynamic catalog is a method of configuring product ranges where the production of all items is identical apart from the artwork.
In doing so they can be quickly reordered by sales staff or even directly by the customer.
This is commonly used by label printers for reordering of previously printed labels within the catalog.
Documentation list:

When quoting for packaging, complex formulas are required to calculate the flat size of a carton as these products are 3 dimensional and often include glue tabs and interlocks.
Using the 'Custom Shapes' creator, users can configure their own formulas and input options for use in custom and simplified quoting.
We have added an admin screen for users to create their own custom shapes.
These shapes can now be used on simplified sessions, SPC sessions, and product CSV uploads.

Commissions can now be setup for printers who works with multiple print management companies / external sales team,
who pass on work in return for a percentage fee based on overall sell price.
This will allow you at quote stage to see how commissions effect your overall margin.
The commission amount is also available via reporting to help your reconciliation process.

When quoting, templates can now be configured to allow quantities to be entered and displayed using a ‘packs’ style input format.
This changes the quantity options to allow the user to enter the qty of 'packs' required and the quantity required 'per pack'. This in turn calculates the total item quantity.
The 'pack' quantities are then displayed throughout printIQ for easy reference.
Kinds are not supported in a pack workflow

When quoting using 'Advanced Quantity Mode' and 'Split into Kinds' we have expanded the option to enable a section to be flagged as a 'Single Kind'.
As an example, quoting a book with multiple kinds of cover and text (different languages for example) printIQ will, by default see all kinds as 'unique' kinds.
When multiple kinds use the same text we have added a flag under a sections 'Advanced Production Options' to flag the selected section as a 'Single Kind'.
This consolidates the number of section quoted.

Add Quote Approval to Quote History
Quote Approval - We have updated the quote history to record when and by whom a 'Quote Approval Request' has been sent:

Do you require a reminder on important customer related information when quoting?
We have added a new field to customer records called 'Important Notes':

Any details entered into this field will display as a 'pop-up' on screen. The pop-up must be confirmed before a quote can be continued:

We have added the option to delete saved credit card details from printIQ

Invoicing Updates

Multiple contacts can now be flagged as ‘invoice defaults’ against a customer record to be included when an invoice is emailed out.

General Updates

CUI Server Improvement
A new, better, faster, stronger artwork server

We have developed a new version of the artwork transfer application (CUI).
The new application is built on a Linux server as opposed to a Windows platform.
The reason being that Linux option increases the transfer speeds and unlike the Windows server, there is no throttling.
The end result is that transfer speeds are faster and also improved the resilience of the transfer.

Both options continue to be supported.
We will migrate hosted CUI servers over to the new platform so there is nothing for you to do.
For those that self-host, we can discuss options for upgrading but you will need a small Linux VM/Server to utilize the application.

This function adds a second layer of security to printIQ logins by incorporating an authentication app.
It has been build using Google’s authenticator app but Microsoft’s and other apps can also be used.

New fields in Inventory --> Quantity on Hand CSV template
To simplify the process of updating the quantity on hand for inventory items via our csv export, we have added the field of ' ItemDescription '.
This will make it easier for users to identify the specific items contained in the csv.
Please note, "Item Description" below is for display only. Updating it will not change Inventory Description in printIQ.

New placeholder to email template
We have added a new placeholder to the email template 'Inventory Purchase Order'.
{SupplierName}
This will allow you to include the suppliers name into the title of the email and body of the text.

New Description Placeholders
We have added the new description placeholders of:
{PreProductionOperations}
{ProductionOperations}
These can be used in place of:
{JobFinishing}
This is useful when you want the pre-production operations to show at the top of the description and the production operations at the bottom of the description.

'Job Bag' print size default to 'letter size' US Sites
Instances set to imperial measurements will now auto-set the 'Production Job Bag' to print at 'Letter Size'. Metric sites will default to A4.

API - New API Call Available

UploadArtworkURL payload
We customised UploadArtworkURL payload by adding  "ReplaceQQADAKey" parameter to UploadArtworkURL object.
This customisation will enable our customer to replace existing artwork on a job via our API call.

GetQuoteDetails payload
We have added "pack information" under "products" to GetQuoteDetails payload

GetAcceptanceDetails payload
We have added "pack information" under "products" to GetAcceptanceDetails payload

Webhook - New Webhook Available

New Webhook available for customer with IQconnect - Punch Out.
We add a new object in the "Contacts" and "Address" Webhook call:
CustomerID

XML

Pack information in XML
We have added pack information into the XML
