IQstore Example Items Test Exercise

IQstore Example Items Test Exercise

This exercise will step through the upload of 3 test IQstore Items into your system.

These items and their Product Category can later be de-activated or re-defined as actual items.

First step is to create a customer group, the customer groups control who sees the store products you offer. For example if one of your clients is the Clucky Chicken franchise you would only want any store items for Clucky Chicken promos to be available to the Clucky Chicken franchisees.

For our example we want to make the 3 products available to everyone.

Create new Customer Group for all customers

Best practice when setting up IQstore items that you wish to be accessible to all customers, is to first create a customer group to contain all customers. Then apply access type ‘Group’ to your store products rather than access type ‘Anyone’. The advantage of this is that if an IQ Store customer only wishes to see their own products you can remove them from this group.

They will now not be able to see any products except those specifically for them.

Navigate to Customers  Customer Groups

Select FACTORY from the drop-down (be aware that FACTORY has been renamed on some sites)

Click ‘+ Add Group’

Name the group ‘Sales Items for Everyone’ and set the type to ‘Select Group’ (where you will select the members)…

When the group is created, open it from the Groups drop-down selector.

There will be no members in the group.

On the right hand side, click ‘Select All’ to select all customers on the current screen (max 100) and click the blue arrow to copy the selected customers to the group…

As you go, the right hand side list refreshes with customers not yet in the group.
Repeat the above step until ALL your customers are in the group.

When creating store products, rather than using the access option ‘Anyone’, use this new group which includes all your customers. This gives more control; if a customer doesn’t wish to see all the store products you offer you can remove them from the group. Remember when you create a new customer to add them to this all customers group if you want them to access your store products.

Once you have created your Customer Group download the test files IQstore example items.zip

Unzip your files and you will see a csv file and 3 product image png files.

Amend CSV to reflect Location and Supplier Codes for your factory

Open the downloaded CSV file, you will see columns K and L show the group access for these items will be limited to your newly created group named ‘Sales Items for Everyone’.

Now check Cols G and H – Default Location and Default Supplier Code.

The default location MUST be a valid location defined on your database and the Default Supplier Code MUST be a valid code for an Active supplier, check you are using the exact spelling.

Your suppliers can be accessed via Customers>View Customers. Go to the Types tab and use the filters to show your suppliers, the supplier code is the far left column.

Upload Sales Items

Navigate to Inventory > Bulk Upload Sales Items

You can upload new sales items and modify existing sales items from this screen (via CSV files)

For the purpose of this exercise, the files are provided, so we do not need to download the csv template or existing items.

Proceed to number 2 – Upload Images.

Select the 3 images provided and upload them… (use CTRL and / or SHIFT to select multiple files)

Number 3 – Upload Sales Item CSV – select the supplied file ‘Example Upload CSV.csv’ and click Upload’…

That confirms the details provided but items have not yet been created in IQ.

For that you must click ‘Confirm’…

And upon successful creation you should see…

If the items are created successfully, you should now be able to create a Sales Order for them…
