Production Integration logic
printIQ with Production Integration requires adherence to some basic principles:
- Everything is Preflighted
- Jobs Status occurs in a certain order
- Artwork must be submitted in a certain way
- Operations are enabled for Production Integration
Sequence of Operations
Production Integration expects Preflight to occur at the beginning of each automation sequence. Any following operations will occur after Preflight. So any Job you wish to run through Enfocus SWITCH must have a Preflight operation. You cannot skip Preflight and configure a job
only soft proof, or
only Send to Press.
The Preflight Operation must also be configured with a Production Order that would occur prior to any other automated operation (soft proof, send to press). Ensure that Order is configured properly.
Lastly, the Preflight operation must be configured for a specific schedule category; and only ONE Schedule Category. See the following information below.
Schedule Categories
Under Admin / Configure Factory / Terminology (under General), Schedule Categories define the sequence a Job will run through each Status, or stage, of production. For Production Integration, SCHEDULE_CATEGORY_8 through SCHEDULE_CATEGORY_13 are specific to Pre-Production (Production Integration). A Preflight operation (noted above) must be configured for SCHEDULE_CATEGORY_8. Then, 'Proof' and 'Send to Press' Operations run sequentially through other Schedule Categories.
Production Statuses
The Terminology screen also contains PRE_PRODUCTION_STATUS_IN_PROCESS_X. Each of these Production Statuses correlate SCHEDULE_CATEGORY_8 through SCHEDULE_CATEGORY_13. You should name these accordingly. IQ support staff will setup the back end of your site with the following settings:
- Status: Pre-Artwork Submission
- Status: Post-Artwork Submission
Work with IQ to configure the appropriate Pre and Post Artwork submission status
Artwork submission
A printIQ Quote may contain more than one section. printIQ can attribute one, and only one, artwork per section. When Production Integration is licensed on your site, IQ staff will enable the setting 'PrintIQ_Enforce1ArtworkPerSection'. printIQ Users can submit only one PDF artwork through the Submit Artwork screen.
Therefore, when Kinds (or Version) are required, please upload a single PDF Artwork file wherein the number of pages (including front and reverse) coincide with the number of kinds specified on the quote.
Enabling Production Integration
You need to enable Production Integration on any operation specific to automation in a 3rd party system (SWITCH). Please see following article
here.
