HP BOX connectivity

HP BOX connectivity

Overview

HP BOX is an application of HP's printOS cloud solution. HP BOX can receive files from various sources, and easily submit jobs to production.

When configured for HP BOX, printIQ will have a unique "HP Box Integration" operation. This operation instructs printIQ to move corresponding submitted artwork and job over to the HP BOX "InBox". The InBox contains a library of Flows. These Flows will process the job according to specific settings.

When a printIQ Job is configured with the "HP Box Integration" operation, it may also be configured for a "Preflight" operation, or a "Imposition" operation. If so, each of these pre-production operations may invoke a unique Flow in HP BOX. Supported operations / flows are:
  • Create Job
  • Replace File
  • Preflight
  • Proof
  • Imposition
  • RIP
  • Send to Press

Once a printIQ Job is sent to HP BOX, it is up to printIQ Users to manually update the printIQ Job Status. At this time, HP BOX does not support communication back to 3rd party software.

Getting Started

A unique User must be created in the printOS account of the printer with HP BOX. This User will be the interface for printIQ API's to send information and artwork to HP BOX. Once the printOS User is created, please provide IQ support staff with the following:
  • Username
  • Password
  • API Key
  • API Secret

The above information will be entered in the printIQ database to support HP BOX.

For assistance in printOS, do a Search under Help for 'partner', and access the screens in relation to creating partner keys

Understanding HP BOX Flows

When logged into your printOS account, use the 'four square' icon in the upper right corner and navigate to My Applications / Box

Once viewing the Box Inbox screen, all jobs sent from printIQ will appear on the list, were relative processing information.

For further information on navigating Box, refer to your HP printOS documentation.

Accessing Box Flows for printIQ

From the Box screen, navigate to Settings / Flows.

When the "HP Box Integration" operation is configured for a printiQ Job, this instructs printIQ to send the Job over to BOX. Without this operation, the job will remain only in printIQ.

IQ support staff need to 'map' this "HP Box Integration" operation to a Flow in Box. This Flow can simply do nothing and accept the incoming job and complete, or the Flow may Preflight, Impose, etc. How you choose to configure your flows is up to you.
Please provide the name of this initial BOX Flow to IQ support staff to map the operation
For further information on Editing Flows in BOX, see your HP documentation
If other pre-production operations are present in the printIQ Job, these too can be mapped to corresponding BOX Flows
  • When a Preflight operation is present, a 'preflight' only flow can be invoked in BOX
  • When a Imposition operation is present, a 'imposition' only flow can be invoked in BOX
Please provide the names of other BOX Flows you would like mapped to pre-production operations in printIQ
