File Printing for DPD Integration

File Printing for DPD Integration

DPD offer a direct integration for third party solutions such as printIQ.
We recently created an integration for our Automated Freight Module which allows customers to use DPD directly within printIQ without the need for third party Freight Aggregators or middleware solutions.

The direct integration only allows the return of labels for specific Label Printers, the most common in use is the Citizen CL-S521 (Sometimes rebadged as TSC Devices). We have implemented the option to download labels for Citizen Devices directly, as the file type is specific (.prn) we have developed a companion application to allow the user to seamlessly print the labels without the need to pay or develop tools to allow output.

The PrintIQConnector app is a simple installer which allows users to print DPD labels directly out of printIQ without the need to touch the DPD app. The install is simple and is only needed for machines where label printers are connected.
*Installer will need to be requested from printIQ

To install the Plugin:

1) Extract the supplied Zip file into the final location you plan to store the application.
2) Run the application as an Administrator.
3) An .ini will now be created in the directory:

4) You will need to share the printer to the network for the application to see the device:

5) Add the full path of this into the .ini file, this will already have a value in place, just rename the device accordingly to what you have called it.

6) The application will automatically add an entry to the windows default apps to always open .PRN files with the printIQconnector application.
7) To get the labels to automatically print without having to click the label to print, you can set your web browser to automatically open files once downloaded rather than just downloading.
This will mean as soon as the PRN file is downloaded, it will print the label and delete the PRN once completed.
