Delivering Kinds / Versions

Delivering Kinds / Versions

When a product is dispatched to a single address, any kinds or versions are summed together for the purposes of the delivery.

However, if the kinds are to be dispatched to different locations, this can be managed as part of the Multiple delivery details. This functionality only appears on products with Kinds when dispatching to Multiple locations.

Simple Kinds, like business cards, have a quantity multiplied by a number of kinds / versions. Eg 500 business cards for 4 individuals would be 2000 business cards.

Advanced Kinds allows for varying quantities per kind as well as naming them.

Managing the dispatch of kinds to different destinations is done through the Multiple freight tab on the quote checkout screen…

To specify exactly how much of each version / kind is to be dispatched, the drop-down selector allows access to the individual kind quantities.

Clicking ‘Select All’ expands the kinds allowing for individual quantities of each kind to be defined for the delivery…

The delivery quantity for the overall product quantity becomes uneditable as delivery quantities are now being managed at the kinds level.

After entering quantities against the required kinds for the delivery, a blue indicator highlights the selected kinds…

Once happy with the details, click Add Delivery to create it. The delivery is created with the different versions occupying separate lines on the delivery with each line depicting the name and quantity of that version…

With simple kinds / versions, they will be labelled as per the Terminology setting for Kinds under Admin ==> Application Customise ==> Global…

The versions quantities update showing what’s been added to deliveries and what is still to be allocated. We can see the 1st version still has 900 out of 1200 to be allocated to a delivery while the 3rd item is fully allocated…

Once the full quantity of each kind is allocated to a delivery, the quote can be accepted and follow its usual production path through the factory and dispatch.
