CHILI Preliminary Setup
Through CHILI, you may create a DataSource under the External Systems of your Environment.
Once you’ve designed your CHILI document to work with a DataSource, you’ll have to Save a unique CHILI Workspace that Allows a Normal User to access the DataSource Settings pane of the Variables tab.
For further information, please see the following CHILI-Docs pages:
Lastly, you will use a different PDF Export Setting from the Output controls of your Environment. This Export setting will Output a multiple page PDF file: each page a record from your DataSource.
printIQ Product Category Configuration
The Product Product Category is where you specify a couple settings related to Kinds [data source].
The Max Kinds Quantity text field limits the amount of Kinds your product will support. For example: 10 or 20, or 50 Kinds.
The Quantity List drop-down allows you to reference a specific Quantity List. Quantity Lists are accessed via the Admin / Factory Capabilities / Quantity Lists screen. Quantity Lists constrain the available quantities and maximum kinds you want to allow your end user. For DataSource Support: you must set “Show Other’ to False. printIQ will only calculate what quantities you specify in the Pricing Information controls further in this document.
For more information on Quantity Lists, see Zoho Knowledge Base page on
Quantity Lists.
Remember: the Product Category is where you may isolate your product to a specific Customer or Customer Group!
printIQ Session Configuration
When you are ready to link your CHILI DataSource Document, use the Single Product Creation screen outlined in the preceeding pages. When you reach the CHILI Public Settings area, Extra Data is required to inform printIQ to reference a DataSource Document.
- To inform printIQ the Document supports a DataSource, enter the following text in the Extra Data field: UseDataSource:true
- You now have to enter another reference, so place a semi-colon after the UseDataSource:true; statement.
- To inform printIQ which PDF Export setting to use, enter the following text in the Extra Data field: PdfExportSetting:<the name of your new Export Setting>
- For example: PdfExportSetting:Default_DataSource
- Since 'PdfExportSetting' is the last statement in the Extra Data field, you do not require a semi-colon to close.
Lastly, you need to Edit Pricing Information. This is easier to do within an Excel spreadsheet, then copy & paste directly into the Edit Pricing Information modal.Essentially: you require a corresponding row for each quantity / kind combination you wish to offer. For example: a maximum 10 Kind business card with three available quantiy selections would comprise of 30 rows.
Once you’ve created your product, navigate to your Customer and Order!
