Adding proofs to Simplified Products

Adding proofs to Simplified Products

In printIQ, you can add a proof to a simplified product by amending the filters for that product.

We will amend the digital business cards product which currently gives the user options for Stock, Size, Colour and Front and Back Lamination.

To add a proof to this, the filters which control the viewable options need to be adjusted to show a proof option.

Go to Admin > Factory Capabilities > Manage Product Categories.

By selecting the Business Card from our Digital products on the left we can see that the filters applied
to this product correspond with the options shown to the user when ordering Digital Business Cards currently.

We will create another filter set that has those same options but add in a proof as well.

Go back to the Admin Menu > Factory Capabilities but this time choose Define Filters.

Create a new filter set, called Stock, Size, Colour, Laminate and Proof. Add the same filters in as the existing set you are wishing to add the proof option to, then also add a proof option.

Edit your product to show the expanded filter set with the proof option.

Now if we go back to creating a simplified quote and choose our digital business cards job again we see the soft proof has been added as an option.

When generating the price we get the message, “You have unanswered questions”.

Checking out to generate the order now asks where to send the proof to. The existing contacts will show in the drop down or add a new one by clicking the
